School is almost here and you know what that means. Tons of papers and notes and permission slips and all sorts of things that you need to keep track of. Instead of getting buried under a mountain of notes, set up a system to stay organized.
I like vintage magazine racks. They’re sturdy and hold lots of folders and files. Use a different folder or envelope for each kid’s activities and school subjects. That way you and the kids will know where to find an assignment or permission slip. Hang them on the wall or inside a door. Personalize each with spray paint or trophy ribbons or class photos.
Hanging shoe bags are also great items for organizing. Your kids will know where to find their library books, art supplies or gym shoes. Hang it the coat closet near the back door. Be sure to label everything. No more “Where’s my…?”
CD racks are easy to find at Goodwill. I set two identical ones next to each other (large folders stay in place better). Assign a color to each child or activity. If Kyle is green, then he knows where to put his “stuff”. Do the same thing on your calendar. A quick glance and you know who and what’s next by looking at the color!
